If you let the air out of the tires, the passability increases drastically, it’s almost like cheating a little. This applies both in deep loose snow, rugged terrain or something easy such as on an unpaved road up to the cabin or on a ski trip. In addition, it increases comfort if you have to cross long stretches on dirt roads that often get “washboards” that normally almost shake the car to pieces. If you release air, the tires absorb these irregularities better.
but… if you let air out, you also need to refill the tires when you are safely on your way again.
