WHY NOT BUILD YOURSELF?
It is possible to rebuild your car yourself. Admittedly, it requires that you provide documentation on the parts you are going to use and these parts must be approved for your car. It must correspond with the model and part number from the manufacturer of the parts you want to use. The documentation on a lifting set must also include approval of the tyre dimension you may have on your car. It is essential to obtain documentation that this equipment has been tested and approved for the European market. The documentation from the test laboratories will also tell you what limitations you have.
Once you have obtained the documentation you think you need for lifting kits, rims and any other equipment, you must make a detailed description of how to build your car. In this description, it must be stated which wheel dimension you should have on the car.
Then you must make an appointment with your local Traffic Station for a pre-conference. Take the car with you as it is approved in the vehicle card today; in addition, you must bring the documentation you have provided with the various parts to be used, as well as your description of how you want to carry out the construction.
The traffic station will then be able to give you a clear signal as to whether you have what it takes, or whether you lack documentation to get the car approved.
When you receive a clear signal from the Traffic Station, you can build the car according to your description. The car must be shown to the Traffic Station when it has been built for final approval. The changes are, if approved, entered in the vehicle card.
The owner is responsible for checking what he can do with work on his own car and not. All vehicles must be in proper condition. Driving a car that is not in accordance with the description of the vehicle card can have serious consequences in the event of an accident.

How does Arctic Trucks do it?
The above description is in many ways the same path we go. The difference is that we get calculations and adjustments made by our own car engineers. We adapt our buildings to current European regulations, before they are sent to a test laboratory. Read more about which test devices we use in our history.
In the laboratory, 15 different tests are performed. To mention a few; noise, stability, brake test with and without servo, steering test with and without servo and mirror test. Once the car has been tested, we get to test the documents. We take these documents with us to the Traffic Station, before we get a national approval for each conversion. It is also extremely important for us that we follow our own pre-agreed procedures to get each conversion approved.
All cars we build are presented to the Traffic Station for approval based on the tests and conversion procedures that have been pre-approved, and an inspector checks each individual car to make sure that the job has been performed in accordance with current documentation and procedures.
